Renewing sandals

It was another lazy Saturday and I got a bit creative... I had my sandals for 3 years now and they looked a bit tired but I loved that bling detail and hesitated to throw them away...
I decided to upgrade them....
I found some suede scraps that has been lying about after another project and I decided to use them to make new straps and soles.

I've removed old straps and insoles, and removed diamante details. Copied all pieces on to suede and cut new pieces to replace the old ones

Here are the new suede piece covering insole and

new straps are doubled and stitched to form new straps

Then diamante detail is stitched on to the straps and attached the toe post piece and decorated straps are attached to the insole

I tried sandal on and it was just right so I attached the sole and " voile" sandals are ready to wear.

My sandals now looks great and much more
beautiful and comfy as suede is real and feels
much better than before. I am very happy with my new sandals

Mending favourite jeans

We all have favourite clothes and especially when it comes to jeans...
I love my jeans and don't want to part with them... not yet... they are very comfortable and i like the way I look in 'em...
So,  sometime ago i was mending them by adding piece of jeans fabric inside and machining from right side catching the holes,  and it was fine for sometime.

Now i am using diffetent technique to mend those worn out places..
I turn jeans inside out and use medium iron-on interfacing to cover all worn out areas

After applying interfacing its ready now for darning.  I turned jeans right side out .

Next step is to find the thread as closer colour as main fabric

Start darning along the warp,
its well visible straight fabric threads.
Sew as close as possible tu each
stitch line for better results.

Its quite long proces an requires a lot of patiens but it wil prolongs life to your favourite jeans so slowly slowly I filledall the mending area and end result is great. Its barely visible and quite strong so it will last long this time. It's like creating new fabric

After washing it looks great. As good as new and almost invisible thanks to the darker thread it doesnt show. Try this method and good luck.
